The heart of agro-industrial production lies in Argentina’s central regions, particularly in the provinces of Córdoba, Santa Fe, and Buenos Aires.

These provinces are key centers for the production of agricultural machinery, hosting around 1,200 companies and more than 200 modern factories. This generates employment for approximately 24,000 highly skilled professionals.

 

No-Till Farming and Conservation Agriculture

 

Argentina has earned international recognition as a pioneer in no-till farming. This approach represents a key pillar of a conservation agriculture system (CA) that allows crops to be sown without disturbing the soil, while maintaining continuous crop residue cover. Remarkably, more than 80% of Argentina’s arable land now employs this advanced system, resulting in significant improvements in the country’s agricultural production.

 

 

 

 

Beyond no-till farming, Argentina pursues a comprehensive strategy that includes advanced residue management, well-designed crop rotations, integrated weed and pest management, and efficient soil fertility practices. The integration of livestock farming further enhances the sustainability of agriculture.

 

 

 

 

The success of Argentina’s agricultural system is also due to advances in cutting-edge agricultural technologies. Through the use of innovative harvest and post-harvest systems, Argentine farmers have achieved high efficiency — reducing physical and qualitative grain losses, lowering production costs, decreasing fuel consumption, and improving water retention. This makes Argentina’s agricultural production one of the most efficient and sustainable worldwide.

In the field of digital agriculture, Argentina stands out as a regional leader, applying an impressive range of technologies, including the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), remote sensing, online platforms, blockchain, and collaborative robotics.
